M&E Global is a defence contractor undertaking services on complex military equipment and aircraft for UK and US contractors. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team.
The Role
Based in Fairford, UK you’ll get to work alongside our dedicated workforce on a UK Military base.
Prior Heavy Vehicle maintenance experience will be required, although additional training will be provided on site.

The Role

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates, repairs, and maintains heavy power construction equipment such as compressors, pumps, hoists, shovels, trucks, tractors, graders, bulldozers, front-end loaders, scrapers, motor graders, skid steers and associated equipment, and fire trucks
- Perform heavy equipment maintenance activities including installation, repair, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.
- Responsible for operating equipment to maintain roadways and firebreaks by excavating, moving, and grading earth.
- Disassemble and reassemble engines and mechanical units to inspect and diagnose parts using computerized test equipment, calibration devices, gauges, etc.
- Repair and overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Repair air conditioning systems.
- Calibrate load monitoring indicators to ensure safe and reliable lifts.
- Rebuild hydraulic cylinders, valves, planetary drive units, suspensions, springs, bushings, and kingpins.
- Replace seals and bearings, axel brakes, and crane rigging.
- Rebuild hydraulic cylinders, valves, planetary drive units, suspensions, springs, bushings, and kingpins.
- Act as point-of-contact for maintenance issues in absence of Maintenance Supervisor or Foreman.
